The Captain

Jack Richards - Centre

Jack Richards has been selected as Moseley Oak RFC club captain for the 2011/12 season and leads the 1st XV from Outside Centre.

The honour of being named captain this year is extremely important to me, as I am enormously proud to represent the rest of the squad, and more importantly the Moseley name.
Having played at Moseley for 16 years since the age of 6, I have been able to experience the whole process, and truly believe that for any current or future Moseley Colts, Moseley Oak is the right path for those who want to play competitive adult rugby and stay within the Moseley family, especially under Head Coach John White, whose knowledge and experience is proving invaluable to us this season.

The Moseley Development games have also been of considerable benefit to us this season, allowing us to reward consistent performances and give more players experience at a higher level, whilst also getting to know some of the colts and Moseley squad players. The Oak playing squad are a fantastic group of players, which after two tough seasons have stuck together and reaped the benefits, becoming a very tight knit and welcoming squad; I think it would be difficult to find a squad with a better atmosphere.

However, we have serious aspirations for Moseley Oak,  to become a more competitive side in a higher league, and also to establish a regular 2nd XV, both of which we believe are now firmly within our reach. Being promoted from Midlands 3 was a massive achievement for Moseley Oak and I'm proud to be a part of the team as we look to continue our development over the coming season.
