Aaron Boyce Memorial 7's
May 2008 marks the third anniversary of the tragic passing of Aaron Boyce, a talented 16 year old rugby player. Aaron’s family has stong links with both Selly Oak and Moseley Rugby Clubs who after the success of the last two tournaments will again be running this tournament and fun family day out in Aaron’s memory.
This years tournament will take place on Saturday 17th May 2008 at Moseley RFC.
The rugby will be played on four pitches throughout the day, moving to Moseley’s showcase pitch for the semi-finals, plate final and cup final. As well as the rugby, professionally run family orientated off-field entertainment has been organised for throughout the day. After the rugby and presentations are complete the evening barbecue will be lit and Fat Ankles (a local Oasis Tribute Band) will start playing in the clubhouse during the late afternoon.
This year has taken a positive twist, with Wooden Spoon coming on board, providing both assistance and coverage in the rugby world. All proceeds raised will this year be split evenly between Guide Dogs and Wooden Spoon.
A cheque presentation will be made to The Guide Dogs for last year's raised amount of £10,000 during the half time interval at Moseley’s National Division 1 fixture against Cornish Pirates on Saturday 19th April 2008
