Moseley Oak 20 - 22 Worcester

Moseley Oak's winning run came to an abrupt end against Worcester at Billesley Common on a sunny day with excellent playing conditions.

Things began well for Moseley who went ahead after two minutes from an Angus Low try after sustained pressure down the right. The converted try was followed by a Gareth Jones penalty and still the signs were good.

Worcester defended well in this period and Moseley made an uncharacteristic number of errors. A kick was charged down resulting in a try 10-7 and shortly after, a clever passing exchange made it 10-12 before a second Jones penalty took the home side ahead 13-12 at half time.

The second half saw Moseley continue to make errors and although the scrummage became more stable they had to absorb pressure. This told after 26 minutes of the second half with a Worcester try from close range. However, Moseley fought back with hooker Willibrod Mbatangie showing great power and pace to score and give Moseley the lead once again.

A Worcester penalty near the end of the game sealed the win leaving Moseley Oak to rue missed tackles, missed kicks at goal, disappointing ball retention and a lack of their usual accuracy.

A tough task next week at home to league leaders Burton.
